Define the term 'Moral' as it refers to Managing H&S
Society expects every Employer to demonstrate a correct attitude to H&S. It is unacceptable to place Employees in situations where their H&S is at risk.

Define the term 'Legal' as it refers to Managing H&S
Preventive - Punitive - Compensatory. Employers also have a duty of care which is commonly seen in common-law judgments, The HSWA and the Regulations made under it also reinforces this the duty of care.

Define the term 'Financial' as it refers to Managing H&S
Direct Costs & Indirect Costs, Insured & Uninsured. A HSE study on the cost of accidents at work found that for every £1 that employers spend on insurance, the uninsured costs of accidents over a year amount to between 8-36 times that amount.

Globalisation of Business, Economic Climate, Government Policy & Initiatives, Business Risk Profile, Societal Expectations for Equality, Migrant Workers, National Level of Sickness Absence

Government review in 2011 indicated around 150 million days lost to sickness absence each year, Working age population on employment & support allowances has increased from 2% in the 1970s to almost 10% today

These regulations set out a strategy for managing H&S by requiring Employers to comply with certain activities
