Cromwell and Fairfax captured over 300 mutineers at Burford, and 3 of the ringleaders were shot

300 infantrymen of Colonel John Hewson's regiment declared they would not serve in Ireland until the levellers' programme was realised, and were subsequently suspended without pay

the Baptist church public disassociated themselves from the leveller movement. Lilburne converted to the Quaker faith during his exile, and faced harsh treatment as new religious groups posed a radical threat to the existing hierarchy

there were civilian casualties at the demonstrations as they had attended to support the levellers - managed to get Lilburne acquitted due to popular support
