What are reasons for prayer?


Adoration: Christians adore God like a Father, showing love,
praise and respect.
Praise: Telling God that He is wonderful and does great things.
Confession: Asking God for forgiveness when they have done
something wrong.
Thanksgiving: Giving thanks to God
Supplication: Asking God for help
Intercession: Asking God to help other people, like friends and
relatives or people who are suffering.

ADVANTAGES: Follows tradition; set structure; knowing what to say; together as a congregation; strengthens community

DISADVANTAGES: Could become boring, ritualistic, impersonal
