What is ground water storage?
Amounts of water that are stored underground.
3 of 17
What is transpiration?
The process of water evaporating from the leaves, stems and flowers of plants.
4 of 17
What is surface storage?
Water being stored on the surface e.g. in a lake or tarn.
5 of 17
What is through flow?
The movement of water through the soil to a river or stream. It is particularly effective therefore the water cannot soak any further down.
6 of 17
What is sruface run off?
Water flowing over a surface towards a channel.
7 of 17
What is evapotranspiration?
The combined process of evaporation and transpiration.
8 of 17
What is impermeable?
Rocks that don't let water flow through.
9 of 17
What is permeable?
Rocks that let water pass through them.
10 of 17
What is precipitation?
Rain/Hail/Snow etc
11 of 17
What is aquifer?

What is field capacity?
The maximum amount of water that a particular soil can hold.
16 of 17
