Deforestation has many negative effects on the environment. The most dramatic impact is a loss of habitat for millions of species. 70% percent of Earth's land animals and plants live in forests, & many cannot survive deforestation that destroys homes

How can favelas be improved?

There is clearly a shortage of available housing which means more building work needs to be done in order for people to move out of favelas.

It should probably also be easier for people to rent without having to show proof of income and property ownership. This would likely require a change in rules making it easier for landlords to evict people who are not paying their rent.

How can favelas be improved? (3)

There needs to be better education and leisure for the kids, decent jobs for the parents. A lot of people could work inside the favelas: sanitation, mudslide and fire prevention, cleaning, etc.
