Petitions>they are used to gain attention from those in Parliament. Once it has recieved 100,000 signatures, it will be discussed in Parliament and they will come to a judgement>current petition is "It should be complulsory to teach G&P at GCSE level

Initiatives>occur mainly in the states(California). Citizens form a petition and if it recieves enough signatures, the government is forced to hold a referendum. This is a way of influencing the government to listen to the people.

Minority has no say>if every decision is voted on by the people, there will be no beneficial change for people of minority groups, meaning they will always remain a minority.
