FORMS OF ENERGY
Energy exists in different forms. Some examples include: kinetic, electrical, gravitational potential and chemical. Gravitational potential energy, elastic potential energy and chemical energy are all stored forms of energy.
Energy can be transferred from one place or form to another . Any object above the ground has gravitational potential energy. As it falls, it transfers GPE to kinetic energy.
CONSERVATION OF ENERGY
It is impossible to create or destroy energy. It can only be transferred from one place or form to another. Therefore, the total amount of energy always remains the same. This is a fundamental law of physics.
