Stimulating ovulation
A woman may fail to ovulate because e.g pituitary gland fails to secrete FSH or LH.
Treated with drugs that mimic the normal action of FSH and LH or drugs that interfere with the negative feedback control, by blocking oestogen receptors in the pituitary
Risk: can cause super-ovulation= multiple births
Artificial insemination
Treatment is which semen is collected and inserted into the female reproductive tract
Used if the man has a low sperm count- several samples of semen can be collected overtime and preseved by freezing.
They are then defrosted…
