Outline the characteristics of the five kingdoms
Prokaryotae - Organisms whos cell have no true nucleus e.g. bacteria
Protoctista - Organisms which can photosynthesise but are NOT plants
Fungi - cannot photosynthesise
Plants - Made up of many cells and able to photosynthesise
Animals - Made up of many cells and unable to make theiir own food
Define the term species
A class of individuals or objects grouped by virtue of their common attributes and assigned a common name; a division subordinate to a genus.
Explain the principles of classification of organisms
Kingdom - e.g. animal
Phylum - e.g.
Class - e.g. mammal
