The theory of planned behaviour has 3 main components;
1. Behavioural beliefs link behaviour to expected outcomes and comprise the subjective probability that behaviour produces a given response. Behavioural beliefs determine the prevailing attitude towards the behaviour
2. Normative beliefs refer to percieved behavioural expectations of a relevant social group, combining with motivational levels to determine prevailing subjective norms, the percieved social pressure to be involved, or not involved in the behaviour
