Mechanical Waves

Are vibrations whcih need to travel through a medium- like sound waves , water waves, waves on a spring and seismic waves produced by Earthquakes.

Electromagnetic Waves

Can travel through a vacuum do not need any particles to move. All electromagnetic waves travel at a speed of 300,000 m/s like visable light and gamma rays.

This is good for all exam boards, but more detail for some than others. However, all need to know about waves. So why not use these clear notes which have been highlighted for you. A nice simple summary. It demonstrates that revision notes do not have to be OVERLY detailed to get the message across!
