Human Nature and Human condition
Buddhism does not emphasise the value of the individual person. It teaches that the more attached a person is to themself the more they seek gratification and become self-centred, ignoring others.
This teaching of 'non-atman' (not-self) does not mean that individualism is DENIED but it recognises that all people are linked by common factors. The suffering of an individual is one which we should all experience.
