the rate of a chemical reaction is how fast the reactants are changed into products
factors affecting the rate of a reaction:
1. temp-higher the temp the faster the reaction
2. concentration-the more concentrated the reactants the faster the reaction
3. surface area-the larger the surface area, the faster the reaction
