the rate of a chemical reaction is how fast the reactants are changed into products

factors affecting the rate of a reaction:

1. temp-higher the temp the faster the reaction

2. concentration-the more concentrated the reactants the faster the reaction

3. surface area-the larger the surface area, the faster the reaction

4. catalysts

collision theory:

1. collision frequency of reacting particles-the more there are the faster the reaction is

2. the energy transferred during a collision-particles have to collide with enough energy to be successful

increasing the frequency of collisions increases the probability of a successful collision

increasing the energy of the collisions increases successful collisions

increasing the frequency of collisions:

temperature-

temp increases and particles move quicker

quicker…
