Jarrow Crusade

This event took place in 1936, in October with over 200 men from Jarrow-ship building town not so distant from Newcastle.

Shipbuilding workers suffered high levels of  joblessness during the 30's in the town of Jarrow.

The men that were chosen were the young, passionate and fittest ones.

These men marched to-an approximate amount of-300 miles to reach London.

Their aim was give a petition to parliament for employment in Jarrow which was signed by 1000+ people.
