Impact of WWII on America

Impact on American's external position:

• America had become the preeminent military power. They were seen as the most advanced and capable military power in the world because of their use of atomic weapons
• Economically they were also the best in the world having the most robust and undamaged economy. The crucial decision at Bretton Woods in 1944 not only created the IMF and the World Bank but also made the US Dollar the world leading currency. This was incredibly important in American supremacy 
• Technologically. America was also incredibly advanced, perhaps again the most advanced nation in the world

Impact on American society:
