Sectors of Industry
There are 4 Sectors of Industry:
- Primary
- Secondary
- Tertiary
- Quaternary
All Sectors of Industry end in '-ry', just like 'Industry' does
Primary Sector
The primary sector of industry involves businesses which extract natural goods from the earth. Products from the primary sector can be sold to the secondary sector.
Example of Primary Sector Businesses:
- Fisherman (fish, shellfish)
- Farmers (wheat, meat, fruit)
- Oil Drilling (oil, gas)
- Coal Miners (coal)
- Foresters (wood)
Secondary Sector
The secondary sector of industry involves businesses that manufacture things. The Secondary Sector uses the good extracted in the Primary Sector. These goods are manufactured into things consumers want.
Examples of Secondary Sector Businesses:
- Shipbuilding (ships)
- Construction (houses)
- Factories (clothes)
