Multiple Hazard Case study: Philippines
The Philippines is located in Asia, south east of China,North of Indonesia it is a group of Islands with a vunerable population at rish form a variety of hazards.
Volcanoes
The philippines is near a destructive plate boundary when the philippine plate is being subducted beneath the Eurasian plate
Mount Pinatubo is an example of an eartthquake it erupted in 1991, many buildings collapsed,crops and agricultural land was destroyed by the falling ash
Earthquakes
The philippine plate and the eurasian plate can become locked toghter as one moves under the other. This causes pressure to buildup. When this pressure is too much the plates jerk past eachother causing an earthquake.
