French Tenses

Present Tense

In English, we use present tense as something that is happening right now

e.g- I walk   or   I am walking

in french we do the same thing

The verb

1- start with the infinitive form of the verb, ending with er , ir, re

2- acquire the stem by taking either of these endings

3- then add the necessary ending;

-er ending verbs

je       -e              -is              -s

tu      -es             -is                -s

il/elle      -e           -it                 --

nous     -ons   …
