Why do we have Ethnic Sports

• Tradition - passed on through generations
• Local/Unique - Local pride / community wants to continue the sport
• Annual Occasion - 'special' occasion / effort is made to take part or watch
• Isolation - So they aren't affected by 'main' sports
• Rural - Isn't affected by 'main' sports and provides an opportunity for people to get involved
• Tourism - Commercial opportunities / brings money into the area
• Social/Festival/Carnival - Entertaining…
