We use EM waves for lots of different types of communication - TV, radio and mobile phones

• EM radiation can be used to transmit (send) information
• Different types (frequencies) of radiation are used for different things:
  • Infrared - TV remote controls and night vision cameras
  • Microwave - Mobile phone and satellite communication
  • Radio - TV & radio transmissions and radar
