Electromagnetic Waves
They transfer energy from one place to another without carrying any matter (stuff)
Wavelength: Distance from one peak to the next
Frequency: how many complete waves there are per second (in Hz)
Amplitude: The height of the wave
All the types of electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed in a vacuum
Electromagnetic waves with high frequency have low wavelengths
Wave speed (m/s) = Frequency (Hz) X Wavelength (m)
Radiation can be absorbed, reflected or transmitted...
Transmitted: Just passes through the substance (e.g. light passing through glass)
Reflected: Bounces back (e.g. light reflecting off a mirror)
Absorbed:…
