Development
- If someone is changing over time their development is discontinuous.
- Children can be classed as mini adults who know less and have continuous development.

- Development is concerned with changes over time.
Theories Of Development
- Constructivism - children construct their own knowledge.
-Psychoanalytic -The upbringing of a child determines their developmental process.
-Behaviourism - children shape their environment and learn through reinforcement and punishment.
Tools Of Development
- The mind is like a black box - we can't see in it but we can see the input and output.
-When studying children it can be difficult to get accurate responses from them so we can use:

- This is when we can predict what other people are thinking.
- It is tested by a false belief test.
-The deceptive box test can test an individuals own false belief.
-We usually use the Sally Ann test.
-5 year olds are able to adapt to others believes, but younger children struggle.
