• Appropriate behaviour of our culture learned through socialisation.
• Children learn from parents/caregivers than wider society about what is acceptable behaviour in their culture.
  
• Acceptable behaviour in one social situation may be frowned upon in another.
• These behaviours must be learnt and followed for a person to be accepted as a functioning member of society. 
  
• What is considered acceptable may change in society over time.
