Mixtures

• mixtures are made of two or more substances that haven't been chemically combined
• Chromotography- seperates solutions with a different number of solutes and solvents
• solute (a substance being dissolved)
• solvent (the element dissolving the solute)
• the solvent moves up the paper and carries the solute with it in the solution

• Crystilisation (heating the mixture so the solvent evaporates)
• Filtration-seperating mixtures that are insoluble
• Simple distillation, fractional distillation
