Intrinsic Sugars
From part of the cell structure of plants in some fruits and vegetables. Here are some of the sugars and were they can be found;
Fructose; found in fruit and honey
Glucose; found in ripe fruits and some vegetables such as onions and beetroot.
Galacotse; found in milk as part of the sugar in milk called lactose.
Lactose; found in milk and milk products
Extrinsic Sugars
Not part of the cell structure of plants, but are added to foods to provide sweetness and a quick source of energy.
Sucrose; Obtained by refining cane sugar or sugar beet. This…
