Perfect Passive Participle
dominus a liberto excitatus irratissuimus erat.
The master having been woken by the freedmen, was very angry.
The participle is formed from a verb, but describes a noun; so excitatus describes dominus.
Perfect Active Participle
A small group of verbs have a perfect active participle instead of a perfect passive participle.
senex deam precatus abiit
The old man, having prayed to the goddess, went.
