There are different ways in which Organic molecules can react. These are classified into different groups:
- Addition Reactions
- Substitution Reactions
- Elimination Reactions
Addition Reactions
In an addition reaction, two reactants join together to form one product. Hence they are simply 'adding' together
An example of an Addition Reaction:
- The reaction of Ethene and Water
- This is am addition reaction because the Ethene and Water join to form a single molecule, which is the product, Ethanol
