It is a biotechnological process that is used to separate DNA fragments according to their size.
What is it used for?
It is widely used in gene technology to separate DNA fragments for identification and analysis.
How is it done?
DNA samples are cut into fragments by restriction enzymes.
They are placed into wells cut into one end (cathode) of the agar gel.
