Ratio
Ratio: relationship between two numbers indicating how many times the first number contains the second. For example, if a bowl of fruit contains eight oranges and six lemons, then the ratio of oranges to lemons is eight to six (that is, 8:6, which is equivalent to the ratio 4:3).
1:12 = 2:24 = 3:36 = 4:48 = 5:60

Dividing and Multiplying Fractions
To divide: turn the fraction upside down and multiply. It works with all fractions. For example dividing by 2/3 is the same as multiplying by 3/2. Notice that when you divide by a fraction the answer is larger than the number you started with.
To multiply: Simplify the fractions if not in lowest terms. Multiply the numerators of the fractions to get the new numerator. Multiply the denominators of the fractions to get the new denominator.
