Infancy - Types of Play
- Form of social development;
- Children create bonds and friendships through play.
Types of Play;
- Solitary: Playing alone
- Onlooker: Looking in before joining play, play alongside others
- Parallel: Playing next to each other, not together
- Associative: Playing separately but communicate with each other
- Co-operative: Playing together, following roles and guidelines of games/activities
Solo Play, 0-1 YR; Looks at adults closely, puts things into mouth and touches things with hands. Plays alone with toys - gradually begins to play simple games e.g; peek-a-boo
