• Main focus: circulation, repiration and posture
• More enjoyment
• Control over mind and body
• Decision making began to feature
• Teachers had more freedom of choice
• Dancing steps and simple games introduced

1919

• Child centred
• Enjoyment and play for under 7s
• Therapeutic work for over 7s
• Recommended that half lesson is spent on general activity exercises
• Less formal

1933

• Under 11s & over 11s have different activities
• Athletics, gymnastics, games skills & group work
• Development of mind and body
• Teacher acts as guide 
• Special clothing worn
• Many schools had newly built facilities
