What is the poem about?

- You may only be able to do this once you have completed ART WARS

R - repeated ideas.

Same thing as theme.

- What are the key themes? you can do this by highlighting words to do with a similar meaning or idea

T - tone.

Is it happy? sad? 

W - words

make sure you look at specific words, expecially ones that have a big meaning or that stand out.

ALWAYS QUOTE THEM

A - alliteration and other techniques

also look at sibilance and fricative words!

R - rhyme and rhythm

ALWAYS try and comment on it as it will gain you marks.

EVEN IF THERE ISN'T A RHYME SCHEME

S - structure

comment on the structure of the poem, whether it is

- sonnet

- rhyming couplets

etc
