Plant Organs

Plants also have cells that are organised into tissues and organs.

Plant organs include:

       Flower, Stem, Leaves, Roots

Plant tissues include:

  • EPIDERMAL TISSUES - which covers the plant
  • MESOPHYLL TISSUE - this is where most of the photosynthesis occurs
  • XYLEM AND PHLOEM - which transports substnaces around the plant

Xylem transports water and salts up the stem to the leaves

Phloem transports dissolved food substnaces made in the leaf to all parts of the plant
