Media can sometimes create a moral panic within society which causes law to be passed quickly - Dangerous Dogs Act 1991, used the term 'type', which caused confusion.
The media can be good as they make the Government aware of public feelings which they need to be aware of as they want the publics votes. Although sometimes the public opinion can be manipulated by media owners (Rupert Murdoick - owner of many newspapers and channels).
In 2009, The Telegraph exposed MPs expenses claims - led to a change in the law and some MPs ended up in prision.
MPs need to have a good relationship with the media so they portray them positively.
