Geomorphological Features

Crack- The cliff develops a crack within the face of the cliff.

Cave- The crack widens and develops into a cave.

Arch- The cave is continually eroded, and the hole in the cliff develops all the way through the headland.

Stack- The pressure put on the arch gradually increases, and the top of the arch breaks, causing the arch to become two seperate pieces of rock, one still connected to the headland, and the other out in the sea. The part that is out at sea is the stack.

Stump- The stack out in the sea is continually eroded, and it becomes smaller. This is then called a stump.
