The Near Future Tense
- The near future is used to say what you are 'going' to do
- It uses the present tense form of 'aller' ('to go') + an infinitive

The Proper Future Tense
- The proper future tense is used to say what you 'will' do
- You need to use the verb's infinitive and add the correct ending
je -ai for -re verbs, remove the last -e from the
tu -as infinitive and then add the correct ending
il/elle/on -a
nous -ons e.g Je regarderai - I will look
vous -ez Ils vendront - They will sell (vendre)
ils/elles -ont

The Perfect Tense
- Use perfect tense to describe an action that happened and fiinished in the past
- It has three parts- a subject, the present tense of 'avoir' or 'etre' and a past participle
il a regarde = he has watched / he watched

- Use imperfect tense to describe actions that were ongoing in the past.
- Used to describe what you 'was doing' or 'used to do'.

J'ai recontre un garcon qui etait tres amusant = I met a boy who was very amusing

- To say what 'had been' happening, use the imperfect tense followed by depuis.
Il pleuvait depuis deux heures quand... = It had been raining for two hours when...
J'attendais depuis deux minutes quand il est arrive = I had been waiting for two minutes when he arrived
