- You must tell HMRC about your new employee on or before their first pay day
- Employees must pay tax and National Insurance
- Employees must be provided with a payslip. A payslip outlines your pay and any deductions. Will also show hours worked. A payslip is a lgal document, must be received every time you are paid.

- under 18 can't work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a week
- can't work more than 48 hours average (usually 17 weeks)
- contract waver = give permission for our company to let us work more hours than originally allowed.
- Exceptions:
- Where 24-hour staffing is required
- Armed forces, emergency services, police
