living things are all divided in to groups all based on what characteristics they are in for e.g

all plants can make there own food .

the largset grounp are called kingdoms e.g. the plant kingdoms

the kingdoms are then split into smaller and smaller groups plylum,class,order ,family ,genus,species . some organisms can seem to fit more then one  group . classification is importent beacause it helps us understand how  organisms are related thier evolutionay  relationship and interct their ecological relationships
