EvaluationIn general, Chomsky's model is good as everything he says is correct. Everything he says he gives an example for to prove his theory right. However, though he gives lots of examples, there is a lack of scientific evidence to support his theory. He overemphasises on grammar in sentence structure rather than how children construct meaning from their sentences. He also does not take conditions such as Down's Syndrome, that may have an impact on a child's language development, into consideration. |
