Booking through a Travel agency

Advantages

  • Easy to buy the full 'package' including flights, hotel and coaches.
  • Can get instant help if anything goes wrong - e.g. flight is cancelled.
  • Can benefit from the background knowledge of different resorts from the travel agent.

Disadvantages

  • You may get sold a holiday which isn't quite what you want.
  • Travel brochures don't always give the full truth about resorts.
  • Package holidays tend to go to busy, popular places which might get crowded.

Evaluation

Travel Agent- Huge buying power and are often the cheapest way.- May have local knowledge - Can be all inclusive- Insured if flights are wrong (ITATA)- Large companies even get you home if they are stuck like during the Ash cloud - May be less flexible
