  • Mental Health in Work
    • How can work affect your employees?
      • It can cause unnecessary stress.
        • Getting the work done before the deadlines may cause anxiety, if it seems there is too much to do before then.
      • It can affect their personal life
        • They may get over loaded with work so they can't spend time with their families.
    • How can employers help?
      • Employers can help their employees' mental welfare by setting reasonable amounts of work.
        • The work that is set should be able to be completed within the work day or by a specific deadline.
      • They shouldn't expect employees to answer work emails outside of working hours.
      • Be flexible
        • Listen to your employees' worries about the work issued
        • Change the deadlines or workloads if there are problems for your staff
      • Offer support and/or resources that can help with employees' mental health.
        • It can sometimes be good to talk to someone about your personal problems.
      • Provide as much routine as possible
        • A solid work plan can help reduce stress as things become familiar in the brain
          • The work becomes second nature.
    • What can employees do inside of work?
      • Arrive to work at a certain time
        • Try to avoid being late as that causes extra stress on yourself and the rest of your company.
      • Eat lunch away from your work space
      • Have a tidy work space to work in.
      • Get as much done as you can at work in a day
        • But don't stress about the work
    • What can employees do outside of work?
      • Take time to relax
        • Get enough sleep
        • Organise time your family
      • Exercise and eat healthy
      • Turn of work devices when at home
        • Don't worry about work after the hours you get paid for.
    • What will change?
      • Employees will feel less stressed/anxious about getting the deadline
        • The work won't be as overwhelming as it usually is.
      • Employees' productivity may be increased.
        • They will be able to do the work to a higher standard if the work load is lessened.
      • Staff will work in a more organised manner.
