- P1.1 Radiation
- Waves
- Wave length is from one point in to the same point on another wave
- Energy is transferred in waves
- The peak is the top of the wave
- The trough is the bottom of the wave
- The amplitude is the height of the wave
- Electromagnetic Spectrum
- From the longest wave length (Radio waves) to the shortest waves (Gamma Rays)
- The order of the Electromagnetic Spectrum goes
- Radio waves, Microwaves, Inferred, Visible Light, Ultra Violet, X-Rays, Gamma rays
- Long wave lengths have low energy, low/no danger and a low frequency
- Short wave lengths have high energy. they are highly dangerous and have a high frequency.
- Inferred Radiation
- Every object emits inferred radiation.
- The hotter an object is , the more inferred radiation it give out in a given time
- Inferred is used in thermal imaging
- The green house effect
- Short wave lengths can enter through the atmosphere.
- Long wave lengths can't get out
