- AR - Causing the apprehension of immediate unlawful violence
- MR - Intention or recklessness as to causing such pprehension
- Summary offence - same as assault
- Battery
- Source of Law: same as Assault
- AR - Inflicting unlawful force.
- MR - Intention or recklessness as to the infliction of force.
- Summary offence - fine; level 5, 6 months imprisonment or both.
- Assault occasioning ABH
- s.47, OAPA 1861
- AR - (I) AR of assault / battery. (ii) which causes. (iii) ABH
- MR - MR of assault / battery
- Either way offence - 5 years imprisonment
- Maliciously wounding or inflicting GBH
- s.20, OAPA 1861
- AR - wounding or inflicting GBH
- MR - intention or recklessness as to causing some harm
- Either way offences - imprisonment 5 years.
- Wounding or causing GBH with intent
- s.18, OAPA 1861
- AR - Wounding or causing GBH
- MR - Intention to cause GBH
- Indictable only offences - imprisonment for life.
