- The Yalta Conference
- It was agreed that Germany was divided into 4 zones: American, British, French and Soviet
- Conference involved BIG THREE - Churchill, Stalin Roosevelt
- Stalin - strongest in position
- Roosevelt - weakest
- Churchill - worried about Stalin
- Stalin wanted the USSR border to move Westwards into Poland.
- Churchill didn't like this plan but there was nothing he could do as Soviet troops were already in control of Poland and East Germany.
- Churchill persuaded Roosevelt to accept it as long as the USSR promised not to interfere in Greece
