      • HDI- The united nations development index. This is a comparative measure of different aspects of development and quality of life for different countries

    • Literacy rates- relate directly to the level of the development of a country. the lower the country's GDP, the lower the literacy rate

      • Physical factors- Temperate climate, low risk of natural hazards, good supply of resources
