- About to start first job in despite Eddie's objections.

- Eddie creates doubts about Rodolfo's motives but Catherine accepts Rodolfo's assurance.

- Catherine is desperate to be independent. She is obviously well thought of at her college. However we can see that Eddie has control over her.
